Dodge's NASCAR Cup champions from David Pearson to Brad Keselowski
Dodge is set to return to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2027, its first competition since 2012, after a history of coming in and out of the sport. Lee Petty scored the brand's first Cup win in 1953, and Dodge has produced several Cup driver champions.
The first came in 1966, when David Pearson drove Cotton Owens-built Dodges to his first series title. Pearson ran 42 of the 49 Cup races that season, winning 15 and finishing in the top ten 33 times. Owens, a former modified star nicknamed "King of the Modifieds", also won nine Cup races despite serious injuries from a crash.
The most recent Dodge champion was Brad Keselowski, who won the 2012 title in Team Penske Dodges in what became a very unusual year.
