Di Giannantonio leads Qatar MotoGP warm-up at Lusail

Fabio di Giannantonio topped the warm-up for the 2026 Qatar MotoGP at Lusail, riding the soft rear tyre. Bezzecchi, who had been dominant on the medium tyre earlier in the weekend, finished half a second behind. Marc Marquez, who joined the session late as he did at Sepang, was fifth on a medium rear, while Jorge Martin was tenth after skipping the opening minutes.

Marquez has a chance to wrap up the 2026 title this evening, but he must win the 22-lap Grand Prix and Martin must fail to score. Bezzecchi needs to beat Marquez by five points to remain in mathematical contention, with Portimao and Valencia still to come. Yamaha are not competing this weekend due to company-wide travel restrictions, and the grid will be reduced to 17 riders after Francesco Bagnaia suffered foot fractures in the Sprint.
