Di Giannantonio fastest in Qatar warm-up as Honda pair retire

Fabio Di Giannantonio set the fastest time of 1'52.281 in the MotoGP warm-up session for the Qatar Grand Prix, although he used a soft rear tyre, which the report suggests was because he had no medium tyres left. Marco Bezzecchi, the fastest rider on a medium rear, was half a second behind him. Enea Bastianini and Pedro Acosta, both on soft tyres, followed Bezzecchi in the Ktms.

Marc Marquez finished fifth on medium tyres, around a tenth of a second behind Bezzecchi, while Alex Aldeguer took sixth on soft tyres. Jorge Martin, on the hard compound, finished tenth after his Aprilia began to wobble during a fast lap.

Honda had a difficult session. Jake Dixon completed no laps after his RC213V emitted white smoke, a suspected engine problem, and Diogo Moreira later suffered the same issue and abandoned his bike at the edge of the track.
