Di Giannantonio and Marquez exchange words over Bezzecchi clash

A behind-the-scenes MotoGP video has shown a tense exchange between Marc Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio over Marquez's clash with Marco Bezzecchi in the Qatar sprint. Bezzecchi crashed after the contact on lap four at Turn 1, while Marquez went on to win the race and set up a first title match point for the following day's race.

Marquez said he had not done anything unusual and that he had taken that line every lap. Di Giannantonio told him he needed to look before closing the line, arguing that Bezzecchi had been on the inside and that the impact was hard. Bezzecchi, speaking to TNT, said he had tried to keep his line and could not avoid the contact.

The FIM MotoGP stewards cleared Marquez of any wrongdoing. Di Giannantonio and Marquez had already had a difficult relationship following a collision at the earlier US Grand Prix.
