Bezzecchi wins Qatar GP after Sprint crash

Source: GPone · · added 15 minutes ago

Marco Bezzecchi won the Qatar Grand Prix at Lusail, bouncing back from the disappointment of the previous day's crash after contact with Marc Marquez. He led from the first lap to the chequered flag, extending his advantage steadily to finish alone.

Bezzecchi trails Marc Marquez by 74 points in the championship. He would need to dominate the remaining rounds at Portimão and Valencia while Marquez failed to score, an outcome he described as difficult to consider realistic. The victory nonetheless gives Aprilia a significant boost in its bid for the Manufacturers' title, now the team's primary objective.

Bezzecchi said he had been motivated after the Sprint crash and had already known he could fight for the win. He felt confident on the bike throughout, focusing on managing his tyres, which can suffer a lot at this track.
