Almansa beats Quiles to win Moto3 Qatar GP
David Almansa took victory in the Moto3 race in Qatar, denying Maximo Quiles, who had already been crowned 2026 Moto3 World Champion, the chance to equal David Alonso's record of 14 wins in a single season. Almansa took the holeshot from pole-sitter Quiles into Turn 1 and controlled the race from the front, finishing 2.516 seconds clear of Adrian Fernandez. Quiles took third.
Veda Ega Pratama secured fourth after recovering from 14th on the grid following a six-place grid penalty. Alvaro Carpe completed the top five, ahead of Joel Kelso in sixth. David Munoz was handed a triple Long Lap penalty for triggering two separate incidents, one with Brian Uriarte and another with Eddie O'Shea, and finished eighth. Ryusei Yamanaka took ninth.
Uriarte recovered from his early incident to finish 14th, while Marco Morelli rounded out the points in 15th. The race also featured crashes for Adrian Cruces and Joel Esteban.
