Mercedes can clinch constructors' title in Sao Paulo
Mercedes can secure the Formula 1 constructors' championship at this weekend's Sao Paulo Grand Prix, one week after Andrea Kimi Antonelli clinched the drivers' title in Mexico City by finishing third.
With four rounds remaining and a maximum of 172 points available, Mercedes has 630 points and a lead of 126 over second-placed Ferrari. Mercedes will be crowned champions with any 1-2, 1-3 or 1-4 finish in Brazil, while a Ferrari victory would make the task harder but would not necessarily prevent the title being decided this weekend.
Team principal Toto Wolff said securing the title would mean a great deal to everyone in the operation. If Mercedes does not win the title in Brazil, there are three further opportunities in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
