Hamilton says Leclerc races teammates harder than most

Lewis Hamilton has answered directly when asked whether Charles Leclerc has a tendency to race his teammates harder than other drivers. Responding to a question about Leclerc's conduct after their first-lap clash at the Mexico City Grand Prix, Hamilton said "Yes", adding that he sees what others see.

Hamilton pointed to the Singapore Grand Prix, where he said Leclerc was fully alongside Max Verstappen into Turn 1 but backed off. He said the situation was different, but noted that Leclerc has shown the same approach with former Ferrari teammates Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz.

Leclerc was not available to the media on Thursday, having travelled to Brazil after the birth of his daughter Bianca earlier in the week. Hamilton was the sole Ferrari representative before the press ahead of the Sao Paulo Grand Prix at Interlagos.
