Antonelli says he feels better after Mexico illness
Kimi Antonelli has said he feels much improved after battling illness during the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend, although he is not yet back to full fitness. The Mercedes driver, who was crowned world champion at the age of 20 after finishing third in Mexico, missed media day there while recovering from a virus.
Speaking in Brazil, Antonelli said the celebrations on the Sunday night appeared to have helped shift the illness. He said he still feels he is recovering a little, but he is better than he was in Mexico, where he was unwell all weekend. He also noted that the triple-header schedule has been demanding for everyone.
Antonelli said that after a whirlwind few days, which included a visit to Ayrton Senna's family estate in Tatui, he would have liked more time to reflect on his title. He added that his preparation for 2027 has already begun and that finishing the season strongly is important for his confidence.
